Well, it is the last Sunday of 2025! And it has been a big year for Granite Hills Baptist Church family. We have been through many things and as our church family grows and with them comes more opportunity for joy and sorrow. But church the Lord is Good! This year we have had to say goodbye, for a while, to several of us we have known a long time! Pam Paez, Darcy Hahn, Mary Metzger, Patricia Morton and Sondra Becker, to name a few precious women of our church. Not counting the ones our church members have said goodbye to like sons, grandsons, moms and dads and dear friends. But church the Lord is Good!
But we have also had births and rejoice with those families that have had new members to our family! Our church grew in 2025, and we have new members walking our hallways and sitting in our services that have brought wonderful talents and gifts to further the mission of this church to glorify our Savior. Our Sunday School Department has hit new highs of attendance and spiritual impact on our church. We have averaged over 150 people in Sunday School a great sign of how our Sunday School teachers are reaching the hearts of our attenders. Our Celebrate Recovery Ministry, I feel, is setting to have the best year we have ever had in touching lives in our community. I cannot remember a single Sunday in 2025 at GHBC when we did not have a visitor in our midst! Church the Lord is Good!
We have started the process of getting a building project up and running and we have had so many great surprises from builders and experts who give us good advice and have seen the Lord confirm with us that we should continue toward this building in the north parking lot! Church, the Lord is Good!
Dear church, we have had several salvations and baptisms at our church. Men and women and boys and girls come to faith in Christ that we have prayed for many years! Church, the Lord is Good!
In the end dear church, we have stayed faithful to God’s word both in preaching and teaching in this kingdom outpost and the Lord has blessed this faithfulness. We have come to each other’s aid in hard times such as serious accidents, serious heart surgeries and physical rehabs and surgeries! We have been a loving church to each other, and I want to say one more time “The Lord is Good!”
Lastly, dear church, from Hope and I, we want to thank you for being such a gracious and loving church to your pastors and their families. Hope and I often say how much we love our church family. So, thank you for being so good to me and my family! As we look forward to 2026 may we remember how good the Lord has been to us in 2025 and stay faithful to the Word of God in 2026! Happy New Year! Pastor Mark
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.” Titus 2:11-13
