“Then I will be good!”

When Queen Victoria was a child, she didn’t know she was in line for the throne of England. Her instructors, trying to prepare her for the future, were frustrated because they couldn’t motivate her. She just didn’t take her studies seriously. Finally, her teachers decided to tell her that one day she would become the queen of England. Upon hearing this, Victoria quietly said, “Then I will be good.” The realization that she had inherited this high calling gave her a sense of responsibility that profoundly affected her conduct from then on.

I believe that many of us forget that one day we will be responsible for things that will be near and dear to us.  We will be married, hopefully to the love of our life.  We will have children that will take your heart and swell it with pride.  You will have a career that will require a great amount of responsibility.  You will be the King or Queen of someone’s life and so let us follow Queen Victoria’s example and if we are not serious about our future, let us begin today to change that.

The first place to start, is your responsibility to follow the Lord God in your heart.  Have you surrendered to the leadership of Christ in your life?  Have you submitted to the authority that Jesus Christ has in your life?  If not, start there.  Without this your future is not around the throne of God but to a miserable life of eternity without Him.      Pastor Mark
