HOW TO JOIN GRANITE HILLS BAPTIST CHURCH

We just finished our New Members class for Granite Hills Baptist church, and this class is now mandatory for entrance to membership.  If you are thinking about joining GHBC please contact Pastor Mark or Pastor Mike for a meeting.  This meeting is designed to make sure that you understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have made a profession of faith.  We will also discuss whether the candidate would like to be baptized or has already been scripturally baptized by a church of like faith and order.  These meetings are always dear to me because I get to hear what the Lord has been doing in the hearts of the people that attend GHBC.  At the end of the meeting, it will be decided which way the candidate will join the church.  Below is the list of ways you can join the church and be a member.

  • Join by baptism.  For those that have never been baptized as a believer or wish to be baptized into the church.
  • Join by letter.  Though it is getting rarer some candidates hold a letter from another Southern Baptist Church, and we will call that church and request your church letter of membership in good standing from another SBC.
  • Join by statement of faith.   This is for those that either cannot find a letter from another SBC church or have come from another denomination of like faith and order and are a scripturally baptized believer and agree with our doctrinal statement.  These candidates can come by a statement of faith.

The joy of joining a church often stems from finding a sense of community, belonging, and support within a shared common faith.  It is where individuals can experience fellowship, encouragement, and a deeper connection to their spiritual beliefs, all while contributing to a larger purpose and receiving guidance from religious leaders.  Essentially, it provides a feeling of being part of something bigger than oneself.  Here at GHBC, we want you to grow in loving and serving the Lord as He has called you to do.  I joined this church in 1987, over 38 years ago, and it has been for me and my family a shelter in times of storms, our forever family and the place we serve the Lord by obeying the “Great Commission” to reach the world for Jesus Christ.  May the Lord bless you in seeking His will in what Kingdom Outpost you are called to serve Him while on your journey in this fleeting and passing world.   Pastor Mark
