“A TRULY MERRY CHRISTMAS”

Merry Christmas Church!  Every Christmas, since I came to faith in Christ Jesus some 36 years ago right here at Granite Hills Baptist Church, I am so blessed to know the true meaning of Christmas.  The meaning that through all the hustle and bustle of the season that Jesus Christ came as a baby to “save His people from their sins.”   That no matter what the circumstances we may be in, God has in the end fixed our lives to hope in the resurrected Jesus.  This we fix our hope on dear church.  Concerning this particular Christmas, it’s been a different one for me personally.  Today my parents would have been married 69 years.   However, the Lord had different plans, and may I add, better plans for them by taking my weary daddy home just 9 days ago.  It is hard to see him go but I praise the Lord it’s not forever for those that trust in Jesus Christ.   Oh, praise His name we serve a risen Savior who is the only one who can give us a truly “Merry Christmas!”  This Christmas will be different for my family, however, it will not be without the blessed hope we have in Christ who stepped into our world and we have never been the same since.

If this is a “different” Christmas for you, and no doubt for our church we have recently seen a few go on ahead into glory, let us “look to Jesus the author and perfector of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the thrown of God” (Hebrews 12:2).    May you truly have a Merry Christmas dear church!
