Today is our annual Youth Sunday when we celebrate what the Lord is doing among the youth of Granite Hills Baptist Church, and I’d like to take this opportunity to consider an important question: What does this next generation need most from us? While financial stability, good education, and extracurricular experiences are all helpful, these provisions can often eclipse the most pivotal provision we are called to offer to our children—an example of what it looks like to fear the Lord. As our Youth Director, Brian Pulizzi, preaches this morning, he will challenge us to consider what kind of life we are modeling for the children and youth in our homes, in our church, and in our communities. My prayer for you this week is that the Holy Spirit would direct each of us to evaluate the legacy we are leaving for the next generation and would graciously help us to correct course for the sake of His glory and the eternal joy of the children and youth He has entrusted to our care.
