Journey Class – A New Sunday School Class for Newcomers or New Believers
Paul, after he became a believer, had to convince the believers in Jerusalem he was not a spy. Enter Barnabas, the encouraging man who stood up for Paul (formerly Saul): “But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus,” (Acts 9:27). What a journey this had been for Paul! The trip to Damascus began as a witch-hunt, but turned into new life and a preaching ministry for Jesus Christ. Paul, as impassioned as he was, needed other Christians like Barnabas to help him on his journey. We all need other believers to help us on our journey. This fall, a new Sunday School class is beginning. The class is called “Journey Class,” because the hope is that adults (singles or couples) who are newer to Granite Hills, or newer to faith in Jesus Christ, or newer to Sunday School will find a good place to build friendships and do life with other believers in Jesus Christ. In this class, we will explore the broad story-line of the Bible. Whether you have been a believer for many years or are just getting started, getting an overview of what the Bible is all about and building some Christian friendships would likely bless you. We will also spend time together outside of class getting to know one another. The class begins Sunday, September 3rdat 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall. It will wrap up before Christmas. The lead teacher will be Rick Malone. Pastors Mark and Jarrod will also be teaching some in this class. Please consider joining this class to get to know the God of the Bible and your fellow Christians at Granite Hills.
