Pastor Mark Morton

Pastor Mark has been a member of Granite Hills Baptist Church (GHBC) since 1987.  He came to faith in Christ at age 21 at GHBC where he has served as Youth Director, Deacon and Bible Study Leader.  In August of 2005, the Senior Pastor, Dr. James E. Thompson, went home to be with the Lord. In October of 2005, GHBC called Pastor Mark to be their Shepherd. During this time he was a bi-vocational Pastor and a Sergeant on the Reno Police Department. In September 2008, Pastor Mark retired from the Police Department and became full-time Pastor of GHBC. Pastor Mark holds an AA degree from TMCC in Criminal Justice and is presently working on a bachelors degree in Bible theology at Multnomah University, Reno Nevada. Pastor Mark has been happily married since 1992 to the love of his life, Hope.  They have three sons and one daughter. Pastor Mark preaches sermons that are from the Bible and are mixed with vivid illustrations that point to Christ Jesus.
